2002 Box Hill Open Championship

• Minimum prize fund $400.
• Visitors welcome.
• Ratings based swiss accelerated at the discretion of the arbiter.
• Field limited to 120 players.
• Clocks start 8:00pm.
• Rate of play: 60 minutes plus 30 seconds per move from move one.
• ACF rated.
• Entry fee $20 or $15 concession including VCA registration.
• Visitors fee $10 for non BHCC members
• 9 rounds:

• 50% of entry fees (excluding the VCA ratings charge) will go towards the prize fund.  Prizes will be shared equally between players on equal scores.  Prizes will be given for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each division, for the best junior (under 18) and for the best senior (over 60).  Players can only win one prize.  Division B players cannot win division A prizes.  The title will be decided on count-back if first place is shared.
• Entries close 7:30pm Friday September 13th at the Box Hill Chess Club or may be lodged with Trevor Stanning by telephone, mail, email or via the web until 10:00pm September 9th.  Late entries may be accepted at the discretion of the arbiter.
• Coaching by IM Michael Gluzman $6 per night 7:00pm to 7:45pm from round 2.
