2005 Rapid Play Knockout Tournament
An eight round rapid play tournament combining a knock-out and a Swiss tournament
in one, with no-one ever eliminated.
- Visitors welcome
- Clocks start 7:45pm
- Rate of play: 25 minutes plus 10 seconds per move from move one
- ACF rapid rated
- Entry fee $15.
- Visitors fee $15 for non BHCC members
- 6 rounds.

- Prize fund of $5 of each entry fee received. Prizes will be shared
equally between players on equal scores.
Rules
FIDE rapid play rules apply.
There is no requirement to score.
Due to the the three games per night schedule, there can be no postponements.
In the swiss section of the tournament players can pick up a one point bye for
a night missed (with the exception of the last round).
The knock-out section of the tournament consists of groups of 16 players
playing two games against the same opponent each week. In the case of
a drawn result two more games of blitz are played. In case of another
draw, one final game will be played with the time allocation: 6min for white,
5 min for black, white must win otherwise black will advance to the next round.
The colours will be determined by a coin toss.
Players eliminated in the first round will go into round three of the swiss
on one point, those eliminated in the second round will go into round five of
the Swiss on three points.
