2005 Box Hill Chess Club Fischer Random Tournament

After the 2001 Fischer Random tournament, won by Keith
Jenkins, Trevor Stanning announced the demise of the tournament. Quoting the
lack of interest as the reason. { view his note of sorrow now shown on the

Norm Wilson has requested the tournament's
revival, so
here it is.

Playing nights:
|
Friday January 21st
Tuesday January 25th
Friday January 28th
Tuesday February 1st
One round on January 21, 2 rounds per night thereafter.

Entry fees:
|
$10 for the whole tournament.
|
|
|
|
Rate of play:
|
30 minutes per player per game plus 10 seconds per move from move one.

|
|
Ratings
|
Unrated.
|
|
|
|
Prizes:
|
1st, 2nd and 3rd and 1st and 2nd in the bottom half.
$5 from each entry will go to the prize fund.
All places will be decided on count back if necessary. Note this is a
departure from our previous practice.

Entries:
|
Close at 7.45 on the first night.
|

|
|
Visitors:
|
No visitors fees for BHCC and WHJC members.
Others $5 for the whole tournament.

How it works:
|
At the start of each round a computer generated FR position is posted and
every player adopts this starting position.
Opponents and colour allocations are decided by a normal ratings based swiss
draw.
There is no requirement to record your moves.
